Electrochemistry and Corrosion Science of Metallic Materials

Wellcome to Tada Laboratory!

Our research group studies electrochemical dissolution and corrosion degradation of metallic materials in various environments. We are trying to elucidate environmental degradation mechanism of metallic materials by utilizing electrochemical and surface-analytical techniques for evaluation of the extent of corrosion degradation.

Specific research projects going on in our group are electrochemical dissolution of Pt-alloy catalysts in Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell (PEFC), atmospheric corrosion of metals and alloys, high-temperature corrosion of corrosion-resistant alloys, metallic corrosion in concrete and soil environments, environmentally-assisted cracking of metallic materials, and development of novel electrochemical techniques for corrosion research.
